Make 2nd left to DEC complex and we will meet at the hunter's station.
Workshops Objectives
- Enhance night navigation skills
- Test ability to plot and transverse a given course at night
- Enhance ability to read a compass in adverse conditions
- Ability to convert data in the field (bearing conversions feet- meters- degrees- chains )
- Assist in navigation preparation for SARTech 1 testing

Prerequisites
Basic map/compass /and navigation skills
Materials Needed
- Compass: Recommended: Silva rangers 515 CL sighting compass or equivalent. Needed features: 360 degree bezel with 2 degree increments, adjustable declination, sighting mirror with vee notch, side rulers with scales of 1:24,000, 1:25,000, and 1:50,000. More info >
- Helmet
- Flashlight with red filter (re cellophane or red bandana)
- Safety Goggles (clear)
- Clothing appropriate for environment and weather (boots/ long pants/ long sleeves/rain gear)
- Bug Spray
- Pencils/note pad/6 in ruler with 1/10 divisions 8 --
- Pocket calculator (Maps of area will be provided)
