Workshops Objectives
During times of emergency, normal modes of communication may not be available. With this emergency communication course from the ARRL, you will be taught the correct procedures and set-ups for emergency communications during local, regional or national emergency conditions. You will learn the basic skills necessary to work effectively with government, public and volunteer agencies, so that working communication networks can be established that enhance communication. You will also be introduced to the division of amateur radio operators and their pool of experienced communicators to assist you in becoming proficient in your skills.
All Amateur Radio operators are encouraged to become certified in emergency communication, and this course is suitable for all licensed operators.
Although the class sessions occur over two days, the participants will be expected to prepare for these sessions at home using the self-study EmComm Level 1 textbook available from the ARRL.
